I have been teaching at East Beauregard Elementary since August 2001. My first year I taught Preschool. I always say I was promoted to Kindergarten the following year. LOL! I have been teaching Kindergarten at East Beauregard Elementary for 23 years. I am currently in my 24th year of teaching at EBE.
I married my husband, Bobby Taylor, in June 1995. We will be celebrating our 30th year anniversary this year. I have a son, Kyle Burks, from a previous marriage. He is now married with 3 beautiful children. I have 3 bonus children, Rodney, Brian, and Amanda. With the combination of our blended family, Bobby and I have 6, Kaylea, Kyle, Grayson, Hadley, Baylor, and Kace, grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, Lydia and Livia. We are so blessed. After being empty nesters for several years, we now have two beloved miniature dashchunds, Hank and Mia, a drop off pup named, VooDoo, and our honory old cat, Ashes.
Kids have always been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. I loved playing with my babydolls and Barbies. As I grew and got older, I babysat my twin cousins. I fell in love with children and they became my passion. I really believe i am living my calling everyday, when I am allowed to love, educate, and of course spoil all of my babies. I am so thankful and blessed for getting to be a part of each and every one of my kinder babies lives over the years. Each of them have left butterfly kisses upon my heart and so many sweet memories.
When I am away from school, my favorite passtimes are fishing, gardening, and watching my grandchildren play sports. I grew up fishing with my daddy and I have always loved it. It is my therapy and my peaceful time while I am on the water. My next love is gardening. I love plants and spending time in my greenhouse. This is my calming area. I can always go to my greenhouse and forget about all my problems. Watching my grandbabies playing all of the sports I grew up loveing makes my heart warm. They are truly my biggest love. And of course I can not leave out my beloved LSU Tigers. I have been a fan of LSU football, basketball, softball, and baseball for as long as I can remember. Win or lose I will always bleed purple and gold.
