MARK WELDON

I am proud to be the principal of East Beauregard Elementary.   As a young boy I attended East Beauregard where I excelled as a student.  After college I returned to East Beauregard where I spent fifteen years in the classroom teaching fourth graders science and social studies.  The 2019-20 school year will be my eighth year as principal of East Beauregard Elementary.

We have a proven track record of having the highest test scores for any elementary school in Beauregard Parish.  This is the second straight year that we have been recognized by the state of Louisiana as an Outstanding School for Top Academic Growth for this region. We have worked hard to create an environment where teachers enjoy coming to teach and students enjoy coming to learn in a technology rich environment that encourages student engagement.  Dedicated to lifelong learning and through ongoing professional development, our staff stays informed about credible research, exemplary teaching practices, and the need for addressing the social aspects of the developing child.

At East Beauregard Elementary, children are our number one priority.  All of our decisions are based upon our philosophy of putting the needs of the students above all others.  As principal of East Beauregard Elementary, I take pride in knowing that every staff member facilitates this mission on a daily basis.

Here at East Beauregard Elementary, we believe that a strong partnership between parents and school is necessary for our students to be successful.  We not only encourage parental involvement, we NEED it!  Throughout the school year you will see the results of parents’ efforts.  Whether participating in our cookie dough fund raiser, volunteering in our classrooms, being a member of our PTO, or working on our PBIS or Title I committees, our East Beauregard parents play a crucial role in their children’s education.  As partners, we share the common goal of nurturing each growing and developing child and giving each student the greatest head start in the world.  Because of this, children will always succeed at East Beauregard Elementary.

Our partnership of faculty, staff, parents, and students at East Beauregard Elementary brings the community together in a very special and positive way.  We will always strive to develop each child to his/her fullest potential.  We are committed to providing our community’s children with the very best in education.
