Why Underwater Robotics?

Builds Teamwork 

Underwater robotics teaches students the importance of teamwork and communication as they work to pilot their ROV.  Students must build and then problem solve various real life issues as it relates to creating a submersible vehicle that is capable of traversing various obstacles.

STEAM Education

Teams get to build and practice piloting their ROVs. They develop STEAM competencies along the way through step-by-step assembly of the frame, mechanical and electrical components of the ROV. Students learn about buoyancy, acceleration, speed, engineering, circuitry and propulsion as they build and customize their ROVs.

Regular attendance instills valuable habits such as punctuality, responsibility, and commitment, which are essential for success in life.
