Counselor's Message

Hey, everyone!

Thank you for stopping by to learn a little bit more about me and my role here at East Beauregard Elementary (EBE)! I am Lauren Jenkins, better known around the school as Ms. Lala. I am located in the front office complex of the school. I work with preschool to fifth grade students by doing class lessons and individual counseling as needed.

I also help focus on academic success through meetings with parents and teachers. I love being creative and enjoy incorporating creativity in my work with students! I am here to help students! I help students by visiting classrooms and providing engaging lessons focused on building positive characteristics such as honesty, kindness, responsibility, respect, and more! I also present social-emotional lessons to help students learn important skills needed to better regulate emotions, build and maintain friendships, and make informed decisions. I listen to, encourage, and support students who need someone in their corner! I meet with parents and teachers when they have various concerns, ranging from emotional, to social, to academic.

I attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) for both my undergraduate and graduate studies. I possess a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I have my school counselor ancillary certificate through the Louisiana State Department of Education. I am honored to work with all of you and your children here at EBE to promote career, academic, and social/emotional development in all students! To learn more about the heart of my work, feel free to check out my mission and vision statement! Have a wonderful day!

Sincerely,
Lauren Jenkins, LPC
